As the digital ecosystem grows and evolves in India, it is becoming crucial for enterprises to provide a superior and exceptional customer experience. To ensure smooth operations of digital services in different areas, like education, healthcare, entertainment, manufacturing and banking, enterprises and data centre operators require an extremely reliable and high-speed communications infrastructure to reach, engage and sell to their target users.
Several use cases now demand extremely low latency and ultra-high-speed user experience. Further, businesses are increasingly relying on hosted infrastructure and the cloud. Additionally, as their connectivity requirements grow, the network needs to be as elastic as the digital world they serve.
This is easier said than done as the businesses are limited by the legacy infrastructure of the Communications Service Providers (CSPs), which was built for retail/individual users and not for new-age enterprise-grade applications and use cases.
A reliable and robust network built specifically for businesses is the need of the hour. At Lightstorm, we have built a network infrastructure that is designed to address several pain points experienced by companies. First and foremost, we adopted a unique approach of understanding our customers’ requirements before building the network. To this end, we interacted with several hyperscalers and enterprises to better understand their requirements and then designed the network accordingly basis this research. This way, the customer is always at the center of all our business strategies and network infrastructure.
Our state-of-the-art Lightstorm Digital Architecture enables businesses to connect to the Global Cloud and Internet Infrastructure to deliver the robust infrastructure required by today’s demanding applications.
Designed For Digital Services
The Lightstorm digital services are centred on three key elements—utility-grade fiber Infrastructure, intelligent software-defined mesh network, and an on-demand Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) platform.
The foundation of all our services is Smartnet, a utility-grade secure fiber length of more than 12,000km, which now connects economic hubs of Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune and Hyderabad. It connects around 50 data centers with aggressive plans to connect many hundreds in the near future. The spine-leaf architecture coupled with point-to-point linear long-haul network architecture is designed to ensure 100% uptime and latency of less than one millisecond.
On top of the state-of-the-art fiber network is the Programmable Network layer. It is an optical network with Optical Domain Controller and IP Domain Controller that further serve the physical customer assets that the platform connects to, including data centres, enterprise buildings, mobile base stations and public cloud providers.
Our network’s key element is the software-defined architecture that provides enterprises with a simple, easy and intelligent way to connect to data centers, cloud and internet exchanges and enhance their application performance and user experience.
Above the programmable network layer and just below the API Gateway lies the E2E Service Orchestration and Assurance layer that comprises a Multi-domain Service Orchestrator. The application gateway, in the middle, links multiple systems in the Lightstorm Digital Architecture, including OSS, orchestration layer, and the self-service portal.
The Digital BSS includes customer lifecycle management, product life cycle management and converged billing and revenue assurance. In addition, the B2B apps marketplace allows customers to create a marketplace that enables several tech vendors to advertise their products bundled with Lightstorm services, which are offered together to the end customers.
On top is the Customer Interface layer, which includes a self-service portal giving complete control and end-to-end visibility to the user. Finally, it is connected to the customer orchestration layer that incorporates two big blocks of Digital BSS and a B2B apps marketplace.
This digital architecture allows us to provide an end-to-end seamless digital experience to our customers, who are in turn able to deliver an exceptional experience to the end-users. The infrastructure makes Lightstorm a truly born-in-the-cloud company with no legacy to hold us back.
Lightstorm is building infrastructure for hyperscale networking in South Asia and Southeast Asia to accelerate the region's growth and spur innovation in the digital economy. We are a pioneer in building a first-of-its-kind utility-grade resilient fiber network, SmartNet, in several countries in the region. A trusted partner of several Fortune 500 companies, Lightstorm is creating a robust foundation of digital infrastructure to create new sources of value and differentiation for businesses.
